23 “Am I a God who is only near”—this is the Lord’s declaration—“and not a God who is far away? 24 Can a man hide himself in secret places where I cannot see him?”—the Lord’s declaration. “Do I not fill the heavens and the earth?”—the Lord’s declaration. (Jer 23:23-24)
1 Lord, You have searched me and known me. 2 You know when I sit down and when I stand up; You understand my thoughts from far away. 3 You observe my travels and my rest; You are aware of all my ways. 4 Before a word is on my tongue, You know all about it, Lord. 5 You have encircled me; You have placed Your hand on me.6 This extraordinary knowledge is beyond me. It is lofty; I am unable to reach it. 7 Where can I go to escape Your Spirit? Where can I flee from Your presence? 8 If I go up to heaven, You are there; if I make my bed in Sheol, You are there. 9 If I live at the eastern horizon or settle at the western limits, 10 even there Your hand will lead me; Your right hand will hold on to me. 11 If I say, “Surely the darkness will hide me, and the light around me will be night”— 12 even the darkness is not dark to You. The night shines like the day; darkness and light are alike to You. (Ps 139:1-12)
21 For His eyes watch over a man’s ways, and He observes all his steps. 22 There is no darkness, no deep darkness, where evildoers can hide themselves. (Job 34:21-22)
No creature is hidden from Him, but all things are naked and exposed to the eyes of Him to whom we must give an account. (Heb 4:13)
19 By this we shall know that we are of the truth and reassure our heart before him; 20 for whenever our heart condemns us, God is greater than our heart, and he knows everything. (1 Jn 3:19-20)
8 “Remember this and stand firm, recall it to mind, you transgressors, 9 remember the former things of old; for I am God, and there is no other; I am God, and there is none like me, 10 declaring the end from the beginning and from ancient times things not yet done … (Isa 46:9-10)
God sees and knows everything.
How do you feel knowing that God sees and knows everything … and everything about you?
Does that comfort or frighten you? How does it make you feel understanding He knows everything about you but loves you anyway?
Do you think there is any part of your life, inside you or around you, that He doesn’t know about?
How does it comfort you knowing that God sees and knows everything?
God sees and knows everything.
How does that fact change the way you should live? Pray?
