Bring My sons from far away, and My daughters from the ends of the earth—everyone called by My name and created for My glory. (Isa 43:6-7)

One of your key purposes in life is to glorify God but how exactly do we bring Him glory?

Here are some ways you can bring God glory:

  • You bring God glory through praise and acknowledgement:

28 Ascribe to the Lord, families of the peoples, ascribe to the Lord glory and strength. 29 Ascribe to Yahweh the glory of His name; bring an offering and come before Him. Worship the Lord in the splendor of His holiness; (1 Chron 16:28-29)

19 The mystery was then revealed to Daniel in a vision at night, and Daniel praised the God of heaven 20 and declared: May the name of God be praised forever and ever, for wisdom and power belong to Him. 21 He changes the times and seasons; He removes kings and establishes kings. He gives wisdom to the wise and knowledge to those who have understanding. 22 He reveals the deep and hidden things; He knows what is in the darkness, and light dwells with Him. 23 I offer thanks and praise to You, God of my fathers, because You have given me wisdom and power. And now You have let me know what we asked of You, for You have let us know the king’s mystery. (Dan 2:19-23)

  • You bring God glory by putting His will above your own:

Going a little farther, He fell facedown and prayed, “My Father! If it is possible, let this cup pass from Me. Yet not as I will, but as You will.” (Mt 26:39)

“Now My soul is troubled. What should I say—Father, save Me from this hour? But that is why I came to this hour. 28 Father, glorify Your name!” (Jn 12:27)

  • You bring God glory by living according to His Word

Therefore, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do everything for God’s glory. (1 Cor 10:31)

In the same way, let your light shine before men, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father in heaven. (Mt 5:16)

  • You bring God glory by serving Him and doing good works

10 Based on the gift each one has received, use it to serve others, as good managers of the varied grace of God. 11 If anyone speaks, it should be as one who speaks God’s words; if anyone serves, it should be from the strength God provides, so that God may be glorified through Jesus Christ in everything. (1 Pet 4:10-11)

My Father is glorified by this: that you produce much fruit and prove to be My disciples. (Jn 15:8)

I have glorified You on the earth by completing the work You gave Me to do …(Jn 17:4)

  • You bring God glory by calling on Him in prayer

Call on Me in a day of trouble; I will rescue you, and you will honor Me. (Ps 50:15)

Whatever you ask in My name, I will do it so that the Father may be glorified in the Son. (Jn 14:13)

  • You bring God glory through offerings, including thanks

Whoever sacrifices a thank offering honors Me, and whoever orders his conduct, I will show him the salvation of God. (Ps 50:23)

Most of us live life on automatic pilot in our routines … even spiritually. Change that and make a conscious effort to bring the Lord glory. Pray for opportunities to glorify Him. Pray for Him to glorify Himself in and through you.

Focus on fulfilling your purpose to bring God glory.

Examine yourself:

How are you at glorifying God?

Do you pray for God to glorify Himself in and through you?

Do you bring God glory through praise and worship? Through service? Through holy living? Through prayer and thanksgiving?

When is the last time you proclaimed God’s greatness to anybody?

But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for his own possession, that you may proclaim the excellencies of Him who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light. (2 Pet 2:9 – ESV)

Do you need to make a more conscious effort to bring God glory?
