Scripture encourages you to examine yourself:
I thought about my ways and turned my steps back to Your decrees. (Ps 119:59)
Let us search out and examine our ways, and turn back to the Lord. (Lam 3:40)
5 Now, the Lord of Hosts says this: “Think carefully about your ways: 6 You have planted much but harvested little. You eat but never have enough to be satisfied. You drink but never have enough to become drunk. You put on clothes but never have enough to get warm. The wage earner puts his wages into a bag with a hole in it.” 7 The Lord of Hosts says this: “Think carefully about your ways. (Hag 1:5-7)
A great way to examine yourself is by answering some questions God asked in the Bible. When God asks you question, He does not ask because He doesn’t know the answer, He asks to help you understand or learn something – about yourself, Him, your faith, people, or many other things.
This study looks at questions God asked that you should spend time answering about yourself. As you do, ask God to help with the process and reveal to you any problems:
Test me, Lord, and try me; examine my heart and mind. (Ps 26:2)
23 Search me, God, and know my heart; test me and know my concerns. 24 See if there is any offensive way in me; lead me in the everlasting way. (Ps 139:23-24)
