Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of His saints. (Ps 116:15)

Have you ever wondered why your physical death is considered “precious” to God? It might sound strange, but I believe it’s because He’s eager to meet you face-to-face!

Look at how these amazing Bible truths show how excited God must be to see you.

He’s making a custom-made Home for you ahead of time

Jesus is even preparing a special place for you in Heaven and is personally coming back to bring you there.

In My Father’s house are many dwelling places; if not, I would have told you. I am going away to prepare a place for you. If I go away and prepare a place for you, I will come back and receive you to Myself, so that where I am you may be also. (Jn 14:2-3)

This is like the ancient Israelite wedding betrothal where the groom would go back to his father’s house to prepare a home for his new bride. When it was ready, he’d return to marry her and bring her to her new home. Well, I have no doubt that the husband was excited to show his new bride the place he prepared specifically for her. In the same way, I believe that Jesus is excited to show you what He’s prepared for you.

He will give you a great and tender ‘Welcome Home’

As believers we have a fearful and reverent awe of meeting Him face-to-face but at the same time, we have great excitement to see Him. Well, it seems to me that Jesus is eagerly waiting to meet you face to face too! Your death is precious to Him because it is a home coming like the prodigal son:

20 So he got up and went to his father. But while the son was still a long way off, his father saw him and was filled with compassion. He ran, threw his arms around his neck, and kissed him. (Lk 15:20)

As His child, He will welcome you with open arms into your eternal home and tenderly wipe away your last tear (Rev 21:4):

Look! God’s dwelling is with humanity, and He will live with them.
They will be His people, and God Himself will be with them and be their God.He will wipe away every tear from their eyes. (Rev 21:3-4)

He will throw the greatest feast of ALL TIME to have His people unite with Him

God is throwing a great feast to celebrate you being united with Him.

Then I heard what seemed to be the voice of a great multitude, like the roar of many waters and like the sound of mighty peals of thunder, crying out, “Hallelujah! For the Lord our God the Almighty reigns. Let us rejoice and exult and give him the glory, for the marriage of the Lamb has come, and his Bride has made herself ready; it was granted her to clothe herself with fine linen, bright and pure”—for the fine linen is the righteous deeds of the saints. And the angel said to me, “Write this: Blessed are those who are invited to the marriage supper of the Lamb.” And he said to me, “These are the true words of God.” 10 Then I fell down at his feet to worship him, but he said to me, “You must not do that! I am a fellow servant with you and your brothers who hold to the testimony of Jesus. (Rev 19:6-10)

God uses the imagery of marriage to show His love and commitment to you. Marriage is based on love and a desire to be together. That’s how God feels about you. Marriage is permanent. Marriage is a uniting of two people. Marriage is something both the man and woman look forward to excitedly.

God is excited to see you face-to-face to start eternity together with you!
