The Lord’s power is unlimited!

Jesus said, “With men it is impossible, but not with God, because all things are possible with God.” (Mk 10:27)

For nothing will be impossible with God (Lk 1:37)

I know that You can do anything and no plan of Yours can be thwarted. (Job 42:2)

²⁴ Suddenly, a violent storm arose on the sea, so that the boat was being swamped by the waves. But He (Jesus) was sleeping. ²⁵ So the disciples came and woke Him up, saying, “Lord, save us! We’re going to die!” ²⁶ But He said to them, “Why are you fearful, you of little faith?” Then He got up and rebuked the winds and the sea. And there was a great calm. (Mt 8:24-26 – parenthesis added)

He (Jesus) drove out the spirits with a word and healed all who were sick (Mt 8:16 – parenthesis added)

Just as He (Jesus) neared the gate of the town, a dead man was being carried out … Then He came up and touched the open coffin, and the pallbearers stopped. And He said, “Young man, I tell you, get up!” The dead man sat up and began to speak, and Jesus gave him to his mother. (Lk 7:11-15 – parenthesis added)  

Seeing their faith, Jesus told the paralytic, “Have courage, son, your sins are forgiven.” (Mt 9:2)

²⁶ Jesus replied, “He’s the one I give the piece of bread to after I have dipped it.” When He had dipped the bread, He gave it to Judas, Simon Iscariot’s son. ²⁷ After Judas ate the piece of bread, Satan entered him. Therefore Jesus told him, “What you’re doing, do quickly.” … Judas, who betrayed Him, was also standing with them. ⁶ When He told them, “I am He,” they stepped back and fell to the ground. (Jn 13:26-27; 18:5-6)

In the passages above, Jesus showed power and sovereignty over the elements of nature by calming the sea (Mt 8:24-26), evil spirits (Mt 8:16), death (Lk 7:11-15), sin and its consequences (Mt 9:2), and the devil (Jn 13:26-27; 18:5-6).

How does knowing God has infinite power make you feel?

What does His unlimited power mean to you as His child?

Does God’s power make you feel confident in prayer? Protected when you seek His safety? Sure that He can deliver on His promises?

There are no life issues or situations in your life where God cannot help.

I pray that the perception of your mind may be enlightened so you may know … what is the immeasurable greatness of His power to us who believe … (Eph 1:18)
