I declare the end from the beginning, and from long ago what is not yet done (Isa 46:10)
The Lord knows the future and He is the only One that does!
45 You saw a stone break off from the mountain without a hand touching it, and it crushed the iron, bronze, fired clay, silver, and gold. The great God has told the king what will happen in the future. (Dan 2:45)
… Taking the Twelve aside again, He began to tell them the things that would happen to Him. (Mk 10:32)
21 “Then if anyone tells you, ‘Look, here is the Messiah! Look—there!’ do not believe it! 22 For false messiahs and false prophets will rise up and will perform signs and wonders to lead astray, if possible, the elect. 23 And you must watch! I have told you everything in advance.” (Mk 13:21-23)
As Jesus left and was going out of the temple complex, His disciples came up and called His attention to the temple buildings. 2 Then He replied to them, “Don’t you see all these things? I assure you: Not one stone will be left here on another that will not be thrown down!” (Mt 24:1-2)
3 I declared the past events long ago; they came out of My mouth; I proclaimed them. Suddenly I acted, and they occurred. 4 Because I know that you are stubborn, and your neck is iron and your forehead bronze, 5 therefore I declared to you long ago. I announced it to you before it occurred, so you could not claim, ‘My idol caused them; my carved image and cast idol control them.’ (Isa 48:3-5)
God knows the future!
The Bible has hundreds of prophecies that have already been fulfilled like the coming of the Messiah and His crucifixion to save mankind, the destruction of the Temple in Jerusalem in 70, and the reformation of Israel in 1940’s.
Can you think of some prophecies in Scripture that haven’t happened yet?
Here are a few – Jesus is coming again (ac 1:11; Mt 24:27; Rev 1:7), you will see God face to face and He will wipe away your last tear (1 Cor 13:12; 1 Jn 3:2; Rev 22:4; Rev 21:4), you will be at the wedding feast of the Lamb (Rev 19:6-9), and you will inherit the Kingdom of God (Mt 25:34; Jms 2:5).
How does God knowing the future affect your belief that Bible prophecy about the future will come true?
How does God knowing the future make you feel about your relationship and future with Him?
