Think about the promises of God.
I am awake through each watch of the night to meditate on Your promise. (Ps 119:148)
Thoughts of God’s promises comforts, encourages, brings joy, and takes your thoughts off the things of this world and puts them onto eternity. Here are some promises from God to believers in Christ. Read through them slowly letting it sink in that God does (and will do) these things for you!
25 Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in Me, even if he dies, will live. 26 Everyone who lives and believes in Me will never die—ever. Do you believe this?” (Jn 11:25-26)
And my God will supply all your needs according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus. (Php 4:19)
And remember, I am with you always, to the end of the age. (Mt 28:20)
God is faithful, and he will not let you be tempted beyond your ability, but with the temptation he will also provide the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it. (1 Cor 10:13 – ESV)
We know that all things work together for the good of those who love God: those who are called according to His purpose. (Rom 8:28)
2 In My Father’s house are many dwelling places; if not, I would have told you. I am going away to prepare a place for you. 3 If I go away and prepare a place for you, I will come back and receive you to Myself, so that where I am you may be also. (Jn 14:2-3)
How did thinking about God’s promises make you feel?
Do you think God will ever break His promises?
God is not a man who lies, or a son of man who changes His mind. Does He speak and not act, or promise and not fulfill? (Num 23:19)
Think of God’s promises regularly for hope, comfort, peace, encouragement, and peace.
